Introduction
From Connector 1.2.8.2, it has a new feature that allows Streamer traffic to be securely routed through the Connector to Splashtop servers. Now, Streamers can work when they are deployed inside a closed network.
Enable Streamer Proxy
Toggle the switch to enable this feature. Once enabled, Streamer traffic will route through the Connector.
Configuration Options
Proxy Port
- Specify a proxy port (range: 1024-65535) for Streamer routing via Connector.
- Default port: 18080.
- Ensure the selected port is unused to avoid conflicts.
Authentication
- Allow anonymous: Permits access without credentials (not recommended for security).
- Require username and password: Enforces secure access.
IP Restriction
- Allow all: Permits traffic from all IPs (default setting).
- Allow specific IPs or IP segments: Restrict access to specific IPs
- Disallow specific IPs or IP segments: Block specific IPs
Applying Changes
Once the configurations are configured as described, click the Apply button to save and activate the changes.
Troubleshooting
- If the proxy fails to connect, ensure the port is not in use and Connector Service is running.
- Check credential accuracy if authentication issues arise.
- Connector itself must have Internet access to make it work.
