Log files

In case if you encounter issues while using Splashtop and want to seek help from Splashtop technical support, you are likely to be asked to provide a copy of the log files for issue investigation.

Here are the instructions on how to get the log files. 

 

If your system is Splashtop On-Prem (Gateway version number is v3.x.x)

Logs for Splashtop Gateway

  • On 32-bit Windows system, please find the log at: %programfiles%\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Splashtop Gateway\log
  • On 64-bit Windows system, please find the log at: %programfiles(x86)%\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Splashtop Gateway\log 

Logs for Splashtop Streamer

  • For Windows Streamer, go to Streamer's settings > Advanced > Open log folder, in the opened file explorer, zip the log files and send to us. 
  • For Mac Streamer, go to Streamer's settings > Advanced > Open log folder, in the opened Finder, zip the log files and send to us.

Logs for Splashtop On-Prem app

  • For Windows client, go to app's Help > Send debug log > Open log folder, in the opened file explorer, zip the log files and send to us
  • For Mac client, go to app's Help > Send debug log > Open log folder, in the opened Finder, zip the log files and send to us. 
  • For Android client, go to app's settings page > Send debug log > Send by Email, and send the log to us
  • For iOS client, go to app's Settings > Contact Us > Send debug log, and send the logs to us by email.

 

If your system is Splashtop Enterprise v2 (Center version number is v2.x.x or v1.x.x or v0.x.x)

Logs for Splashtop Center

  • On 32-bit Windows system, please find the log at: %install_path%\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\SplashCenter\Logs\

Logs for Splashtop Streamer

  • For Windows Streamer, please find the log at: 
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\SPLog.*
  • For Mac Streamer, please find the log at: 
    /Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/SPLog.txt    or  ~/Library/Logs/SPLog.txt (single user machine)

Logs for Splashtop Enterprise app

  • For Windows client, please find the log at: 
    C:\ProgramData\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote Client for STE\<USER_NAME>\log\win_client.txt
  • For Mac client, please find the log at: 
     ~/Library/Logs/STClient.log
  • For iOS and Android clients, go to:
    Settings -> Advanced -> Send log to email
    Android log can also be found:
    Storage > emulated > 0 > Android > data> com.splashtop.enterprise > files > log
