Splashtop Gateway v3.36.x – UI/UX Enhancements Overview

Splashtop On-Prem Gateway v3.36.x introduces significant UI/UX improvements across three major areas:

  1. System Section

  2. Account Page

  3. Software Downloads and Deployment Pages

These updates focus on modernizing navigation, improving security workflows, and simplifying deployment operations.

1. System Section Enhancements

The System Section has been redesigned for better clarity and functionality:

  • Status & Network:

    • New “Change Port” flow with warnings and a guided modal.

    • IP and Port information is displayed with improved formatting.

  • Security Page:

    • Split into sub-tabs: SSL Certificate, TLS Settings, and Access Control.

    • Import, export, and remove SSL certificates directly within the UI, with validation and clear impact warnings.

    • TLS version selection with confirmation modals ensures compliance with modern encryption.

  • Notification Improvements:

    • Tooltips and placeholder texts added for End Time field, ensuring administrators understand message expiry behavior.

  • Software & License Management:

    • New top-tab navigation for different package types (Streamer, On-Prem Client, SOS, AR).

    • Simplified package upload interface with clear progress states.

    • Redesigned license activation page supporting both Online and Offline activation.

    • Privilege visibility grouped by Past, Active, and Future tabs.

2. Account Page Redesign

The Account Page has been modernized to improve readability and security visibility:

  • Profile Section: Displays both Account Name and Email clearly, stacked vertically for better identity clarity.

  • Security Section:

    • Two-Step Verification (2FA) now displays trusted device counts inline.

    • Quick navigation to the “My Trusted Devices” page.

  • Preferences Section: Renamed from “General Settings” to “Preferences,” standardizing spacing and headings.

  • UI Principles Applied:

    • Modular sectioning similar to GitHub and Zoom layouts for quick scanning.

    • Inline edit forms reduce the need for modal popups.

    • Dedicated danger zone for account deletion, separated visually for safety.

3. Software Downloads & Deployment Pages

The deployment experience has been restructured to reduce confusion and streamline endpoint installation:

  • Deployment Page Redesign:

    • Split into Deploy with Link and Deploy with Installer tabs.

    • “Try Link” button now opens the deployment page in a new tab for quick testing.

    • Shareable links and deployment codes are now visually grouped and copyable in one click.

  • Streamer Deployment:

    • Clear instructions and pre-filled fields to reduce user error during installation.

4. What’s New Section

The System > About page now includes a “What’s New” section, showing highlights from the active major version。
