Customize your SOS

Important:

When re-name your SOS app, please make sure the naming convention meets below requirements or the app may not work properly.

1. No Space in between.

2. No "-" in between.

 

Requirements:

  • Active SOS with Splashtop On-Prem SOS service.

Steps:

  1. Download the latest SOS app from https://gateway_address:port/sos
  2. Run the downloaded program
  3. Click on the pull-down menu Settings->Customize

  4. Login with your Splashtop account (SOS feature must be enabled for the account to allow customization).

  5. Update the banner, background color, message, etc. (Please note the size limitations.)

   6. Save the theme or generate the SOS app

   7. If you need the EXE signed as "Published by Splashtop" instead of unknown, see #3 below.

 

App Sign Options today:

  1. If you don't code sign your customized version of the app, users may receive warning messages from their firewall/anti-virus software when they try to run it.
  2. If you have your own signing certificate, you can sign as your own app
  3. If you would like to have Splashtop sign the customized app

                 a. Customize the app as mentioned above and save off the "Theme".

                b. Send the theme to support-onprem@splashtop.com and request that  Splashtop                        generate a signed app with this theme.  (Windows EXE and/or Mac DMG).  

               c. Upload the signed pkg file to your gateway - System - Software - SOS

 

Notes:

  1. The SOS caption is up to 20 characters.
  2. The banner image is up to 2 MB.
  3. The SOS instruction text is up to 80 characters.
  4. The theme file is up to 4 MB.
