What this feature does
The SOS Global Invitation Template lets your team share a consistent invitation message when technicians invite users to start a remote support session.
Instead of each technician editing their own text, you can define one global message that appears automatically in every SOS invite.
Who can manage it
-
Team Owners can create or edit the global template in the Gateway web console.
-
Technicians can use the global template automatically, or create personal templates (up to 5) if the team disabled the global template.
How to set a global invitation template
-
Log in to your Splashtop Gateway web console as an Owner.
-
Go to Management Console → Team Settings → Attended Access.
-
Find the section Global Invitation Template.
-
Turn the toggle ON to enable it.
-
The Global Invitation Template window will open automatically.
-
-
Edit the Subject and Body text of the invitation message.
-
Click Save when done.
Your message will now appear automatically when technicians send SOS invitations.
💡 Tip: Click Reset to default anytime to restore the original system message.
Understanding the template macros
Templates support two special placeholders (macros) that automatically insert the correct Gateway and SOS download links.
They help ensure your message always includes the right URLs — even if your Gateway address changes later.
| Macro | What it does | Example output |
|---|---|---|
{{GATEWAY_URL}} |
Automattically inserts your Gateway’s address (e.g., the web console URL). | https://demo.example.com:443 |
{{SOS_DOWNLOAD_URL}} |
Automatically inserts the download page for your SOS app. It automatically combines your Gateway address with /sos. |
https://demo.example.com:443/sos |
Example message
Hi,
Please follow these steps so I can assist you remotely:
1. Open this link: {{SOS_DOWNLOAD_URL}}
2. Download and run the program from the page.
3. When prompted for Gateway address, enter: {{GATEWAY_URL}}
4. The program will display a 9-digit session code.
Please reply with that session code, and I’ll connect to your device securely.
Thank you,
Administrator
When sent, this message automatically fills in your actual Gateway address and SOS download link.
🔍 Note:
Macros are case-sensitive.
You can remove or replace them with your own text if needed.
If the
{{GATEWAY_URL}}macro is missing, the system won’t add it automatically.
Supported languages
The default system templates are available in all languages supported by Splashtop On-Prem, including English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
